Free As A Human Foundation believes strongly in the restorative power of embracing one's creativity and finding positive self-expression. We exist to uplift and empower the voices of human trafficking survivors, using the arts, fashion, and technology to help them share their truth. Our programs and resources focus on healing, skills development, and showcasing survivors' talents. We want to ignite new possibilities for survivors by providing access to innovative education, training, mentorship, and creative platforms.
Free As A Human began as a Fashion Campaign in 2018 by Kenyan Artist and Fashion Designer Anyango Mpinga, to raise awareness of Human Trafficking in Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2022, Free As A Human was established as a 501c3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to uplift survivor voices, share their stories and wisdom in ethical ways. We provide survivors with tailored resources, education, a supportive community and opportunities to use their voices to create change. Our education programs equip survivors with knowledge and practical skills to gain confidence, independence, and access to opportunity.
